Hello, I’m Karen.
I absolutely love the creative process, whether it is in the design of elegant and useful products, or in creating sculptures.
I get my inspiration for my art from nature and use objects that I find on hikes in my sculpture. To view more of my sculptures, visit my Art site.
My Design Process
I follow this tried and true design process to create designs that meet the needs of real users and that solve real-world problems. The gray lines represent iteration as the designs get refined and move through the design stages. My design process always involves lots of iteration.
In addition, I like to apply problem solving, attention to detail, visualizations, consistency with existing design systems and patterns, and innovation in the solutions that I design.
I have honed these skills during my 15 years designing products across a wide variety of industries (cloud computing, fintech, health care, IoT, productivity, real estate, ecommerce, digital advertising) for large corporations to stealth startups.
Design Guidelines
These are some of the main design guidelines that I use when I design products. These guidelines help me and the teams I’m working with develop user-centered design solutions.
